Me:
For this project and coming up with ideas I immediately went to my favorite site ever, Pinterest.

For myself I answered questions about who I was and I explored the endless options on Pinterest. The great thing about being able to create a board is that I was able to pull things that caught my attention, and was able to develop an overall look. I can also figure out what works together and what doesn't. I know for me, lighting is huge. I love it in the natural world and I love to shoot it (as learned from image diaries). Mine needed to be a little moody. I'm drawn to dimly lit things, night time pictures, and street lights. I am a commuter student and I've always kind of isolated myself due to a variety of reasons, so I knew my pictures were going to feel a little bit lonely. There is also the idea of living at home. I have a fear of being stuck somewhere, and I think I kind of feel like it now, because of this there is a sense of wanting to get away (hence the roads). Though I will be present in photos, I never want to be in clear focus. I'm slow to open up to people, and actually pretty quiet until I get to know someone. So, I want to be kind of blurry in the photos I'm present in. In other photos where I won't actually be in them, my hobbies and places will stand in my place. I also want the colors to work like street lights. I want a lot of dark and only minor spikes of color, and I want the color to be a little muted not super vibrant.
Critique I got was just to make sure I find good times to do things, for example, I want some pictures in a movie theater since those are my happy place. There was one I found of a woman sitting down looking at the screen, but I would just have to be courteous to others since something like that isn't staged. I do want a couple street ones as well so I have to find a times for those as well where traffic isn't as bad.
I didn't take too many notes for myself, but these are some of my basic brainstorming ones:
Julia is probably the most interesting person I know, and she is also someone I've known for a long time (since Middle School). Her personality is the equivalent of getting punched in the face, and I mean that in the most flattering way possible. She's always been like that. So, contrast to mine I want her to always be clear in her shots. I want them to be vibrant and chaotic at times almost to the point of being hard to look at or confusing as to where you should focus. Her girlfriend explained her the best as intense and I want these photos to reflect that. In a couple photos, I do want more subtleness to balance the set. I actually interviewed her and talked to a couple people who knew her. I then put together a board based on what she said, what I know, and what others know. It will be interesting because this is a compilation of different views of one person while mine is from my own point of view. We notice details about others that we don't recognize in ourselves. I'm interested to see how this turns out.
I checked with her and asked her girlfriend to look at the board to see if they both felt like that was a good representation of Julia.
I originally thought about having them all be kind of dark and cool toned, but the interview helped a lot in that regard so I could figure out that cool-tones were not a good way to go about capturing this person.
(these are my interview notes-they are messy but I can read them which is what matters I guess)
