Mentor Feedback - Matt Sisson
Updated: Apr 30, 2021
I conducted this review session over zoom. To get a sense of how the game is played, I created a virtual demo using figma which allowed me to move around pieces.
Matt mostly provided feedback on the design since we weren't able to play it in-person. I was limited in what I could implement due to time constraints and needing to get everything fabricated before the capstone deadline, but his feedback was extremely helpful and I'll be implementing it for further iterations beyond capstone.
We talked about how to minimize the text on the cards. For the final product for the purposes of a capstone, there wasn't much I could change due to time constraints and getting everything fabricated. To counteract the amount of text, I ended up ordering a bigger size for the cards. However, Matt suggested having a system of consequences that I could assign icons too. It just needs to be simple enough for people to memorize. I really liked this idea and will be adopting it for another iteration at some point.
He also recommended having all the boards being the same size for the boards. This was a leftover of my one-board days where the rooms were all shaped a little different. Having the same size will make it for packaging and would make it easier for people to arrange on the table.
He recommended also having more shared assets in regards to the room activities. I ended up making the back of the turn summary and "room key" that briefly explained what each room did.
