Week 9 Progress
Goals:
Get all boards, tokens, and cards fully designed.
re-write cards to have more player choice
What I accomplished:
I performed some printing tests to see how some of the things I built would actually look.
Boards: Printing is expensive so I only got 3 nicely printed.
The Hall of Mirrors was the only one I was really unhappy with, and it did reveal some flaws I had with the Gardens. I was pleasantly surprised with the details that showed up in the rug I added to the greed room. According to sources, the room it's based on had a persian rug, and I wanted to incorporate that detail to spice it up a little.
Cards: I tested four different sizes for the cards.
The first is the original, standard game size. I really thought this was too small. The tarot size was big, but it did accomplish what I wanted from an art stand point.
I designed and re-wrote almost all of the cards I had to incorporate more character choice in the consequences. I also included some others that will block off rooms completely. I do think I want to print more cards before the semester is over, but there is enough for around 2-4 people to play the game.
I designed the character cards, there are only 6 at this time, and I really want to expand that in the future.
I also designed the rest of the rooms, but there is still some details I need to get sorted.
Finally, I also designed what the chips themselves will look like.
All that's left from a design standpoint is to get turn summaries, instruction booklet, and the sin tokens done.
